Home Instruction

Home Instruction Services

First Children Services has a long history providing home and supplemental instruction to students from school districts throughout New Jersey. We are a New Jersey Department of Education Approved Clinic and Agency for public school and non-public school home instruction, counseling, and related services. Our teachers are all certified by the State of New Jersey and maintain the proper certification for the subject to be taught.

Types of Instruction

Remote Home Instruction is not online schooling or virtual instruction, but rather one-to-one or small group live instruction through video conferencing. It allows a teacher and student to interact in the manner they would in a traditional home instruction session, but safely from their own homes. Remote home instruction enables us to serve students for whom in-person home instruction is an obstacle. This includes students with medical challenges such as those who are immunocompromised, have a communicable disease, or are out-of-town receiving medical treatment. It also helps us to educate students with severe anxiety that prevents in-person instruction, and students who live in under-served areas of the state where districts struggle to find home instructors.

First Children Services also provides supplemental instruction to students who are in need of additional assistance in their academic studies.  We provide services after the school day, at the student’s home, school, or our location in Cherry Hill.  Our New Jersey certified instructors supplement and support each student’s classroom instruction.
